The Public Safety Support Coordinator is a non-sworn position responsible for enforcing university parking rules and regulations, maintaining public safety equipment for the Department of Public Safety, and providing additional supervisory, safety and security responsibilities as called upon. Work includes the protection of life and property through the enforcing of university regulations and all aspects of the parking system. Support includes manual and clerical tasks in the assistance of Supervisor, management of part-time student officers, and special parking operations within the University's Department of Public Safety. Limited protective work in the guarding and securing of buildings, grounds, and facilities against loss or damage; monitoring and inspecting buildings and grounds for safety and security procedure, regulations, and enforcement will be required. This position will assist other university officers upon request. Work may involve the use of independent judgement in responding to emergencies and working in storm shelters during weather emergencies. Work is frequently performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Employee will generally work day shifts, but may be assigned an evening shift during special events and special sporting events, or may be called to work odd hours for special events or activities on campus.
