Major Gifts Officer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Major Gifts Officer creates and implements a comprehensive development program for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gifts (individual pledges and gifts of $25,000 or more) to obtain general operating, endowment, and capital funds for an assigned School. Assists the Director, Academic Development to achieve overall development objectives and departmental goals for the University. Is assigned to a specific School and assists the Dean with School fundraising priorities. Teams with University level administration, faculty, and the University’s Board of Visitors to achieve fundraising goals.
HVAC III Jacksonville (South Campus)
The Heating/Air Conditioning Mechanic III performs master level work in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, heating, and allied equipment. The Mechanic III services and maintains various refrigeration and air conditioning installations and equipment according to established trade practices and under the direction of the HVAC Supervisor. Tasks are reviewed for compliance with instructions and adequate completion. The HVAC Mechanic III works rotating shifts; special situations or emergencies may necessitate reporting on a scheduled off-day.
Plumber II Jacksonville (South Campus)
The Plumber II provides work at the journeyman level. Performs a variety of skilled plumbing tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in the installation and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems in state buildings. Supervision may be exercised over helpers and assignments are received in the form of oral or written instruction or job orders.
General Maintenance Jacksonville (South Campus)
The General Maintenance employee performs skilled work in repairing, renovating, and maintaining University buildings, primarily residence halls and University-owned apartments. General Maintenance duties include electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. This could be a supervisory position with one or more student workers.
Building Construction Inspector Jacksonville (South Campus)
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Capital Planning and Facilities (CP&F), the Building/Construction Inspector will coordinate and complete the inspection of construction and renovation projects for JSU university buildings and facilities at multiple campuses ensuring construction meets local and national building codes and ordinances, zoning regulations, and contract specifications.
Plumber III Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Plumber III performs a variety of skilled plumbing tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in the installation and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems. Supervision may be involved. Assignments are received orally or as written job orders. The Plumber III works independently and complete projects without direct supervision.
Groundskeeper/Laborer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Groundskeeper Laborer performs lawn and grounds work of an unskilled nature that will vary with the season. Responsibilities involve physical labor that is conducted mostly out of doors in all weather conditions. Tasks may occasionally include those on a semi-skilled level. Duties will be assigned in detail by an immediate supervisor and are subject to frequent inspection.
Career Specialist Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Career Specialist solicits regional businesses for job leads and scheduling of interviews for registered students and alumni, and collects, organizes, analyzes, and prepare reports on the status of experiential learning work assignments. The Career Specialist will manage daily program operations, develop program/policy procedure, conduct program assessment and evaluation, and participate in meeting strategic initiatives. The Career Specialist collaborates with Career Services staff to coordinate and manage special events that connect JSU students with companies for networking and/or hiring purposes, employment related events and training; emphasis is placed on internships and effective searches for career related positions while assisting students in developing post graduate plans by providing resources and opportunities to encourage career exploration and self-assessment.
Coordinator, Academic Advisement Certification Support Jacksonville (Main Campus)
To assist the School of Human Services and Social Sciences with advising Freshman and Sophomores majoring in the academic departments when needed, completing graduation certification each academic semester, assisting with all orientation and registration sessions. Assist the Dean as needed.
Senior Director, Sponsored Programs Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Jacksonville State University (JSU) is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and seasoned administrator, Senior Director of Sponsored Programs to provide leadership to all stages of grant acquisition and grant administration, while ensuring compliance with all federal administrative requirements, state regulations, grantor restrictions, and University fiscal policies. Under the direction of the Associate Vice-Provost, the Senior Director of Sponsored Programs provides vision, guidance, coordination, and oversight for the University’s efforts to apply for and administer JSU’s federally and state funded grants and awards programs. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and refining a system of on-going oversight, training, and support related to programmatic compliance in the implementation and management of government-funded grants and will lead efforts to identify best practices as well as gaps and inefficiencies in JSU’s grants administration to ensure a high standard across the University. • Oversees all pre- and post- award activities • Assists senior administrators and principal investigators with issues related to externally-sponsored research activities and affiliated contractual requirements • Develops and implements guidelines and policies to support faculty and staff in the institutional grant acquisition and approval process • Provides and/or oversees outreach and training to faculty and other constituents • Engages the University community (including faculty, department heads, deans, vice-presidents), to draw awareness to funding opportunities • Provides support to the University with the review and delivery of the proposal to the funding agency
Director, Faculty Commons Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Director, Faculty Commons provides leadership and vision for the continuous improvement of teaching and learning at Jacksonville State University. This individual is directly responsible for developing strategies, services, and support for faculty and instructional staff that promote effective teaching practices and, indirectly, student success. The Director will facilitate collaborative initiatives with academic and support units across campus that foster best practices in teaching and learning.
