$10.88 per hour (up to 26 hours per week)

Normal Work Schedule:

Nights and Weekends depending on event schedule

Job Summary:

The Temporary Ticket Seller is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the ticket office. The employee will report to the Coordinator, Athletic Tickets Sales & Special Projects and work will be reviewed for compliance with university policy, adherence to auditing standards, and successful completion of goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Count and handle money
  • Make correct change and provide receipts for payments.
  • Work the ticket booth or ticket gate for athletic events at time and locations designated by the Athletic Department or work in the university bookstore selling textbooks and other items.
  • Performs clerical tasks related to the sale of tickets
  • Will be required to work weekends and evenings or on “as needed basis” for the sale of tickets to athletic and student events.

Knowledge of:

  • University environment, specifically of athletics
  • Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Internet)


  • Attentive to detail, and customer-focused
  • Effective interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy

Ability to:

  • Perform arithmetical computation in a rapid and accurate manner
  • Follow oral and written instructions
  • Prepare required reports
  • Operate a cash drawer and to make change rapidly and accurately
  • Meet and deal with people appropriately and effectively
  • Lift and carry small packages or items related to the printing and selling of tickets
  • Perform clerical and record keeping tasks related to ticket selling

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least one (1) year full time equivalent experience in a clerical, administrative support or cashier positions
  • (This is NOT student employment.)
