8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Monday – Friday 

Job Summary:

The CORE Conference Assistant supports logistics all CORE workshops and the CORE Academy at Jacksonville State University and at other regional universities.

This position is funded thru 12.31.2020 by the 2015 i3 grant, therefore, the position is contingent upon continued funding.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports and coordinates all aspects of CORE events, conferences, and meetings facilitated onsite and virtually, ensuring successful results.
  •  Works closely with multiple CORE partners.
  •  Facilitates continuous communication between the CORE program units, clients, and Director, and all partners (local, national, and virtual).
  •  Provides follow-up with the clients to determine if the event was considered successful and end to ensure client satisfaction.
  •  Serves as a resource/referral person for conference guests by responding to requests for information about JSU and the JSU CORE program.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned
  •  Ensures accurate and timely documentation of Conference/Event records and tracks information.
  •  Ensures rooms are set.
  •  Ensures all equipment is available and operational.
  •  Verifies set-up of various audio-visual equipment, catering requests, photos, and speakers for Conferences/Meetings locally and nationally. 
  •  Works with private sector partners to achieve grant objectives.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, and
  • two (2) years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration
