The Department of English seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach composition, writing studios, speech, and/or literature surveys, as well as other courses as needed, and conduct weekly office hours.  Courses are taught in person, hybrid, and/or online. Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree in a field appropriate to the discipline with at least 18 hours completed in graduate-level English courses.  Transcripts submitted with the application must show these minimum qualifications. In addition to their qualifications and experience, the cover letter must address the applicant’s availability to teach in person on the JSU campus Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Assistant Professor, Political Science Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The Department of Sociology and Political Science invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Political Science. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a primary teaching focus. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in comparative politics and international relations. This full-time, tenure-track, 12-month position will begin May 2026. This department head will report to the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, who reports directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. This hire is the first in the department, which is expected to grow by one faculty member every other year, so the department head will have an opportunity to shape the department and program by providing vision, leadership, direction, and expert administration. A terminal degree is required along with at least five years’ experience flying. Leadership experience in an academic setting, the military, or the private sector is also required.
