University Student Assistant - SSC Peer Tutor - Tutoring Services (Summer 2026 - Fall 2026) Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
Provides tutoring to individuals and small groups in the Student Success Center (SSC) located in the Houston Cole Library, 2nd floor. The SSC tutoring program is CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified. If hired, students are expected to complete 10 hours of training. This position assists students in improving academic achievement, supports students by reviewing and clarifying learning problems, and provides useful study skills to students who need supplemental help. Additionally, peer tutors provide subject-area knowledge and serve as a model for students in the techniques, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that successful learners employ as they acquire new knowledge, solve problems, and complete academic tasks. Tutors may also provide drop-in tutoring assistance to students based on requests for academic assistance. Tutors must possess knowledge of subject area material beyond a basic level; have excellent communication skills; the ability to provide an active learning experience for students by explaining difficult concepts and providing examples for explorations. Other assistance might include reviewing class material and discussing the text and course content. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs. Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics (MCIS) (Spring 2026) Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The discipline of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematical, Computing, and Information Sciences (MCIS) needs adjunct instructors for general education courses (MS100, MS110, MS112, MS113, MS204). We offer a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with three concentration options. We also offer service courses and prerequisites for other programs across campus. We are seeking applicants to provide in-person instruction. Teaching experience is desired.

The discipline of Computer Science in the Department of Mathematical, Computing, and Information Sciences (MCIS) needs adjunct instructors for general education and basic programming courses (CS201, CS230, CS231, CS315). We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and in Computer Information Systems with five concentration options. Science in Motion Specialist Anniston, AL (McClellan Center)
The Science in Motion Specialist is responsible for conducting teacher education training in the teaching of secondary sciences (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) utilizing state-of-the-art procedures and laboratory equipment and to teach laboratory units to high school science units. Extensive travel to regional high schools is required.
