Department Head, Aviation Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
Jacksonville State University’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a Department Head of Aviation to lead a newly created department at Jacksonville State University. This full-time, tenure-track, 12-month position will begin May 2026. This department head will report to the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, who reports directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. This hire is the first in the department, which is expected to grow by one faculty member every other year, so the department head will have an opportunity to shape the department and program by providing vision, leadership, direction, and expert administration. A terminal degree is required along with at least five years’ experience flying. Leadership experience in an academic setting, the military, or the private sector is also required. The salary is contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of the university.
Housekeeper II (Night) Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The Housekeeper II in Building Services performs routine cleaning of interior spaces and the immediate exterior area. Work assignments are primarily indoors and under close supervision.
Graduate Teaching Assistant - MCIS, Mathematics (Fall 2026 - Spring 2027) Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
A Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the Mathematical, Computing, and Informational Sciences – Mathematics department assists faculty by teaching lower-level courses or labs; developing teaching materials; and preparing and grading examinations, papers, or other student work. The GTAs must be assigned to and responsible for teaching a credit bearing course and will be under the supervision of a faculty member experienced in the teaching field. A GTA’s work with students will be closely supervised and must provide opportunities to gain teaching skills and a better grasp of the academic discipline. The supervising faculty member is responsible for overseeing the assignment of all grades to students in the courses. Positions will be filled based on individual applicant’s skills, qualification, and departmental needs. Temporary Clinical Associate (Fall 2026 - Spring 2027) Jacksonville, AL (South Complex)
This is professional nursing work in assisting the faculty of the School of Health Professions and Wellness in preparing and presenting material to nursing students. This position is responsible for assisting faculty in instructing and evaluating students and provides individual assistance to students when required.
Adjunct Faculty - Nursing (Fall 2026 -Spring 2027) Jacksonville, AL (South Complex)
The Department of Nursing at Jacksonville State University (JSU) invites applications for Undergraduate Faculty Adjunct positions. The Undergraduate program offers both a traditional undergraduate BSN and an RN-to BSN option. Experience teaching online and in traditional classroom courses is desired.
