Visiting Faculty Positions in English

The Department of English seeks to hire non-tenure track Visiting Faculty at either the Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor level for the 2022-2023 academic year.  The Visiting Faculty member will teach a 5/4 load of composition, writing studios, speech, and/or literature surveys, as well as other courses needed by the department, and will conduct weekly office hours.  Applicants with experience teaching composition, developmental writing, speech, and literature surveys may be given priority.  Applicants with availability to teach in person on the JSU campus Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. will be given priority.  The base salary is $40,000.00, with benefits, for this one-year contract.

Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree and at least 18 hours completed in graduate-level English courses.  Applicants with master’s or doctoral degrees in English will be given priority.  The position start date is August 2022 and Visiting Faculty will be required to attend an all-day professional development departmental workshop.
