Administrative Assistant, Emergency Management & Public Administration Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Administrative Assistant performs clerical and secretarial work, processes and maintains relatively complex office records, reports, and materials of greater difficulty and with more independence, but within guidelines established by precedents and departmental policies. This position has routine, personal contact with customers and the general public, providing standard information and occasionally explaining methods, procedures, services and activities of unit.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Biology (Cell Biology) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
This faculty member will be expected to teach courses in general biology for majors and non-majors, cell biology, and upper-level specialty courses within their biological field of study.  Teaching and mentoring masters-level graduate students is also expected.  Development of a research program in an area of cell biology is required. The ideal candidate will conduct research utilizing mammalian cell culture, with an interest in cancer research using, for example, plant secondary metabolites such as cannabinoids. The candidate will be innovative with a strong interest in teaching undergraduate and graduate students through active learning pedagogy. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude and inclination for engaging students in research, both through individual mentored research as well as course-embedded undergraduate research experiences.  The applicant must demonstrate the ability to advise students on future careers and have a working knowledge of curriculum requirements, as well as assessment and educational trends in higher education. A record of grant writing experience for extramural funding is beneficial. Additional requirements include skillful and effective use of English (both oral and written), basic computer skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues as well as professional organizations within their field of expertise outside of JSU.
Graduate Administrative Assistant - Honors Program (Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The duties of the Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) in the Honors Program will assist with special projects relating to the Honors Program. The duties include preparing newsletters, researching other schools in order to develop special and meaningful projects and programs, as well as preparing suggestions for improving current procedures. Position also includes assisting faculty, some academic support duties, and departmental operational duties. The GAA will rotate with other staff members attending Honors Program meetings, which may include assisting after regular university hours, on weekdays, or on weekends during special events. Must also be willing to drive a 6 to 15 passenger van if needed. Positions will be filled based on individual applicant’s skills, qualification, and departmental needs. Professor, Graphic Design Jacksonville (Main Campus)

The Third-Party Receivables Officer is responsible for the daily data entry on student accounts related to third party processing. Responsible for processing information in governmental databases and adheres to all governmental requirements. This requires becoming certified and maintaining certification as a “certifying official.” Assist with all other collection processes.

Specialist, Graduate Enrollment Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Graduate Enrollment Specialist is responsible for the processing of graduate applications, verification of students’ academic history, program entry dates, and ensuring accurate recording of student information in the Banner System. This position is also responsible for evaluating international transcripts, admissions decisions for programs waiving review for unconditional admissions; preparation, processing and distribution of decision letters and ongoing communications with academic programs; end-of-the-semester reporting and processing of conditionally admitted students; and evaluation of unencumbered licensure for nursing applicants. These responsibilities require independent decision-making and supervisor skills. This position serves as the initial point of contact for staff, faculty, students, and other constituencies; responds to routine inquiries; and disseminates information about the services offered by the Graduate School. The Graduate Enrollment Specialist attends graduate student recruiting fairs, tabling opportunities, and other recruiting/public relations events as needed, representing JSU Graduate Studies. The individual selected for this position will assist with developing social media campaigns and/or communication plans for the Graduate School.

University Student Assistant - Safety Ambassador (Fall 2024) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The University Department of Public Safety’s mission is to provide professional, proactive, and community-oriented service and protection, through prevention of crimes and other hazards, enforcement of the law, and safeguarding the constitutional guarantees of all within the campus community. Federal Work Study - Chemistry and Geosciences (Fall 2024) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Chemistry and Geosciences Federal Work Study Student is responsible for assisting with inventory and making certain that the laboratories are clean and well-maintained. Additional duties include washing laboratory dishes and utensils, preparing chemical solutions under the direction and observation of the Lab Tech, keeping the labs in a good and safe condition, testing the safety showers and eye wash stations regularly, and other work that may be required by the department at various times.
