Assistant Professor of English, Literature and Film Generalist

Position Description

We invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English with a generalist’s preparation in literature and film studies, a full-time, tenure-track position to begin January 2025.

This faculty member will teach introductory to graduate-level literature and film courses as well as First-Year Writing and speech, according to department practice and policy. Preference may be given to candidates with a focus on minority literatures and film.

This faculty member will also conduct scholarly research sufficient for tenure and advancement and engage in appropriate service. A Ph.D. in English, or a Ph.D. in Humanities with a concentration in English, by the appointment date is required. The ability to teach composition and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential are also required. The salary is contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of the university.
