Department Head, Theatre and Film
Jacksonville State University’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Sciences (CAHS) is seeking an expert teacher/scholar to serve as the Department Head for the Department of Theatre and Film. The department houses undergraduate degrees, programs, and credentials; and offers many courses in the University’s general education curriculum.
To enable students to achieve their greatest potential, CAHS emphasizes excellence in teaching in every department, with dynamic and caring faculty whose work in the classroom is bolstered by research, scholarship, artistic creation, and service activities. Through the work of its faculty and students, CAHS enhances the cultural, intellectual, and social life of Jacksonville State University, the local community, and Northeast Alabama.
This position requires the following:
- An earned doctorate in one of the content areas managed with the Department of Theatre and Film.
- At least ten years full-time university teaching experience and an earned rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
- A minimum of one year of administrative experience such as department head, assistant department head, director, assistant director, program leader/coordinator, or similar responsibility.
- The successful candidate will also have accomplishments sufficient to meet requirements of the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Theatre or Film at JSU in teaching, scholarship, and service.
