Job Summary

The discipline of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Geosciences needs adjunct instructors for General Chemistry courses (CY 105 and CY 106) and Chemistry lectures and oversees the College Chemistry Labs (CY 107 and CY 108). These courses make up the introductory level chemistry or Gen. Chem courses and their respective labs. We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with three concentration options. General Chemistry I and II are required for all of these tracks. We also serve as service courses and prerequisites for other programs across campus. We are seeking applicants to provide in-person, hybrid, and/or online instruction. Experience teaching in a traditional classroom setting is desired. Experience teaching online and in traditional classroom courses is desired.

Department Information

Chemistry and Geosciences is one of the most diverse and dynamic of all the departments at Jacksonville State University. We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Geography, a master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Technology and minors in Chemistry, Geography and Physics.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree appropriate for the discipline or training and experience in the field to be qualified to teach specific courses.
  • Traditional classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience with in-person, hybrid and online instruction.
