Job Summary

The Department of Nursing at Jacksonville State University (JSU) invites applications for Undergraduate Faculty Adjunct positions. The Undergraduate program offers both a traditional undergraduate BSN and an RN-to BSN option.

Experience teaching online and in traditional classroom courses is desired.

Department Information

The Department of Nursing delivers evidence based teaching and learning within professional undergraduate and graduate programs to develop quality nurses prepared to engage within the global healthcare environment with emphasis on practice, service and scholarship.

The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for:

  • Teaching clinicals in the traditional undergraduate nursing program or teaching online courses in the RN to BSN program.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree appropriate for the discipline or training and experience in the field to be qualified to teach specific courses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher

Writing consultants have the opportunity to hold interactive writing appointments with student writers from all disciplines on various writing projects such as essays, speeches, proposals, multimodal projects, etc. Consultants must understand the structure of topic sentences, thesis statements, paragraphs, and essays along with essay knowledge. Writing consultants should have a good understanding of grammar and mechanics as well. Knowledge in various rhetorical modes and types (e.g. literary reviews, analyses, blogs, websites, presentations, etc....) is beneficial. Consultants will develop key skills such as communication, cooperation, and leadership. Consultants will also have the opportunity to specialize in types of writing and citation styles. A Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) under the supervision of the faculty and/or staff, may include assisting faculty and/or staff, as well as other academic support duties, and departmental operational needs, and other associated and clerical duties as assigned. Positions will be filled based on individual applicant’s skills, qualification, and departmental needs. Federal Work Study - English Department (Fall 2026 - Spring 2027)

The duties of the Federal Work Study Student Aid are to obtain work experience on campus in offices, labs, gym, the library, and other areas. Duties may include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for research, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualification, and departmental needs. **Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. If uncertain of eligibility, please contact the Office of Financial Aid. 

Auxiliary Teacher, 1 Year Olds

Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus), Alabama College of Education and Professional Studies
The auxiliary teacher will assist with implementing a model Pre-K program for a group of children and provide support to the lead teacher with the following: planning and implementing appropriate activities for children, working with faculty and administration, working with families of young children, and modeling evidence-based practices in the classroom for early educator observers, graduate, and undergraduate students. This position is a 9-month, bi-weekly payroll position working 187 days per year.
