Program Chair of the Doctor of Education (Ed.D) Program

Jacksonville State University’s College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking to hire a scholar for an Associate or Full Professor in the Professional Counseling and Leadership Department.

The College of Education and Professional Studies at Jacksonville State University invites applications for the position of Associate or Full Professor of Education. The Associate/Full Professor of Education and Program chair of the Doctor of Education (EdD) Program provides academic leadership, administrative oversight, and strategic direction for the doctoral program within the College of Education and Professional Studies. The program chair ensures high‑quality instruction, scholarly excellence, and robust student support across the program. This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and university partners to maintain program integrity, meet accreditation expectations, support dissertation completion, and promote continuous program improvement.

This position requires the following:

  • Doctorate degree in education, higher education, education studies, counseling, or a related field.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:

  • Experience in supervising student research
  • Experience in teaching graduate courses
  • Experience in supervising faculty

Federal Work Study - English Department (Fall 2026 - Spring 2027)

The duties of the Federal Work Study Student Aid are to obtain work experience on campus in offices, labs, gym, the library, and other areas. Duties may include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for research, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualification, and departmental needs. **Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. If uncertain of eligibility, please contact the Office of Financial Aid. 

Auxiliary Teacher, 1 Year Olds

Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus), Alabama College of Education and Professional Studies
The auxiliary teacher will assist with implementing a model Pre-K program for a group of children and provide support to the lead teacher with the following: planning and implementing appropriate activities for children, working with faculty and administration, working with families of young children, and modeling evidence-based practices in the classroom for early educator observers, graduate, and undergraduate students. This position is a 9-month, bi-weekly payroll position working 187 days per year.
