Faculty Member, Teacher Education

Jacksonville State University’s College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking to hire a scholar for an instructor or assistant professor for Teacher Education.

The College of Education and Professional Studies at Jacksonville State University invites applications for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor, Teacher Education. The faculty member will be expected to facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts, skills, and behaviors that contribute to the develop of mature, able, and responsible members of society. This position exists to provide educational services to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening. Instructor may be required to teach courses within his/her concentration area on campus, off-campus, online, and/or using videoconferencing.

This position requires the following:

Instructor Level:

  • Masters degree in Special Education or Elementary Mathematics Education related field

Assistant Professor Level:

  • Doctorate in Special Education or Elementary Mathematics Education related field

Applicants should possess the following:

  • Experience in teaching within one or both of the required fields in P-12 schools, with 6+ years preferrable.
  • Documented success in working with diverse student groups.
  • Experience teaching and supporting students within K-12 school settings.

This position has an anticipated start date of August 17, 2026 or once hired.
