Job Summary:

The University Driver (Non-CDL) is responsible for transporting students, employees, and visitors across campus and offsite locations within designated route(s). This position is responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle, ensuring the safety of the passengers in the vehicle while meeting established transportation schedules.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drives transportation vehicle within a prescribe route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging passengers at designated stops.
  • Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily.
  • Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
  • Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request.
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.
  • Completes periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts.
  • Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required.
  • Operates a two-way radio.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • valid Driver's license
  • safe driving record
  • some experience transporting passengers
