$250 flat fee per month

Position Summary: 

The duties of the University Student Aid are to obtain work experience on campus in offices, labs, gym, the library, and other areas. Duties may include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for research, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required.

Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs.

Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. *)
  • If not a first-time student, the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
  • Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJSU.

The Public Safety Support position is a non-sworn position responsible for enforcing university parking rules and regulations, maintaining public safety equipment operated by the Department of Public Safety, and providing additional logistical, safety and security responsibilities as called upon. Work is performed under general supervision of the Public Safety Services Supervisor and in accordance with established routine and guidelines checked by personal inspections, review of reports, and discussions with the unit supervisor.

Administrative Assistant, Counseling Services

Under the supervision of the Director of Counseling Services, the Administrative Assistant performs clerical and secretarial work, processes and maintains relatively complex office records, reports, and materials of greater difficulty and with more independence, but within guidelines established by precedents and departmental policies. University Student Assistants support welcoming, safe, and organized guest experiences at Randy Owen Center performances and events. This is an event-based position. The posting will remain available August 1, 2026–July 31, 2027. Students apply to be considered for individual events; selection for one event does not guarantee future assignments. Scheduling depends on event needs and availability. Evening and weekend work may be required. Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
