University Student Assistant - Multimedia Assistant (Fall 2026)

$8.25 per hour (Max 26 hours per week)

Position Summary: 

The Multimedia Assistant will work as an integral member of the Department of Housing Operations and Residence Life’s Marketing Team to help in reaching our residents/prospective residents through graphic design and marketing materials. This role relies heavily on the ability to create original designs and requires strong visual and written communication skills. The Multimedia Assistant will contribute to various projects/campaigns throughout the academic year and will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing graphics for Print and Web.
  • Produce creative content for social media such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Keep content of flyers and documents up to date.
  • Maintain University digital board content. 
  • Work in coordination with the JSU Print Shop, prepare files in a print-ready format.
  • Work university events such as Preview Day, Accepted Students Day, and Summer Orientation sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Should be working towards a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Present a portfolio with examples of work showing experience with Graphic Design/Marketing.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Police Officer, Investigations

The Police Investigator reports to the Investigations Captain and is responsible for facilitating a wide range of aspects of public safety, including supervising crime scenes, misdemeanor and felony cases, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures; investigative aspects of the police department. This position may be assigned to day or evening shifts and may be called to work odd hours for special events or activities on campus and answering routine calls for service. Work may frequently be performed outdoors in all weather conditions. This job has the same responsibility as patrol officer with the added responsibility as the aforementioned responsibilities as an investigator.
