$8.25 per hour (Max 26 hours per week)

Position Summary: 

The Technology Support Center TSC University Student Assistant position will help operate the TSC helpdesk and provide technical support for students, faculty, and staff members. Duties may include assisting faculty, staff, and students with technology needs such as submitting support tickets, password resets departmental operational needs, and/or performing administrative and other support duties as required.

Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs.

Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with operating the TSC helpdesk with answering phone calls, responding to emails, and troubleshooting support issues.
  • Provide technical support for students, faculty, and staff members.
  • Assisting faculty, staff, and students with technology needs such as submitting support tickets, password resets, and other departmental operational needs.
  • Administrative and other support duties as required.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Additional duties as required by the department.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. *)
  • If not a first-time student, the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
  • Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJSU.

Assistant Professor of English (20th Century American Literature)

We invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English in 20th-Century and Contemporary American Literature, a fulltime, tenure-track position to begin August 2027. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching American literature from the beginning of the 20th Century to the contemporary period, according to department practice and policy; conducting scholarly/creative research sufficient for tenure and advancement; and engaging in appropriate service. A Ph.D. in English with a specialization in 20th-Century American Literature by the appointment date is required. The ability to teach composition and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential are also required. Preference may be given to candidates with a subspecialty in Native American, Asian American, Latinx, and/or other minority literature(s).

Assistant Professor of English, (Rhetoric & Composition Studies)

The Department of English at Jacksonville State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English in Rhetoric and Composition Studies with specialty in composition theory and writing pedagogy, a full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 2027. This faculty member will teach introductory to graduate-level rhetoric and composition courses as well as first-year writing, speech, and literature, according to department practice and policy. Preference may be given to candidates with additional experience or expertise in cultural and feminist rhetorics and/or technical and professional communication.
