Primary duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied percussion, percussion studio, percussion ensemble, and class percussion. Other responsibilities include recruiting and maintaining a quality percussion studio. The department offers undergraduate programs of study in Music Education, Music Performance, and General Music. In addition, the department offers graduate programs in General Music and Music Education. At least 18 graduate hours in the discipline are required.
