Main area of research should focus on the literature and languages of the British Isles pre-1450. Willingness to collaborate with faculty in archaeology and art history preferred. Ability to teach History of the English language and/or surveys of world literature preferred. Ph.D. in English, with a specialty in Medieval or Early Modern English Literature, required by August 2026.

This faculty member will teach courses in the department’s new Professional Writing programs, as well as speech, composition, and other courses as needed, according to department practice and policy. Of particular interest are specialties in digital writing, user experience/user interface, writing for social media, podcasting, technical or business writing, and/or writing for AI. Preference may be given to candidates with additional experience or expertise in game studies or digital humanities.
