Learning Specialist: Adult and Transfer Students in Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
As part of a holistic strategic effort to support at-risk adult learners and transfer students, this position provides individualized student support programming efforts that centers around learning strategies and academic skills. The Learning Specialist functions to ensure assigned students understand assignments in their courses, help them to develop an organizational system that will facilitate success in their courses, assists students in areas where there are some cognitive deficiencies, and helps coordinate with assigned academic counselors, tutors, Disability Resources, and other Student Success Center Team members to guarantee the students receive proper academic assistance.

Success Coach: Transfer and Adult Learners in Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The Success Coach, Transfer & Adult Learners oversees student assistance relying on assessment and theory-based interventions while maintaining records and reporting ongoing progress. Additionally, the Success Coach, Transfer & Adult Learners is responsible for implementing strategies designed to increase student success and university retention rates, provides academic skills assessments, strengths development, encouragement, and assistance for a diverse population of enrolled and newly admitted adult students. This is a student success position that works under general supervision of the Director, Transfer & Adult Student Learning Support, receives Success Coach training and development from the Coordinator of Success Coaching from the Department of Academic Support & Success, and collaborates with Military & Post Traditional Student Services and Director of Transfer Initiatives to enhance outcomes for transfer and adult learners.

The Department of Communication invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Communication, specializing in news broadcast production and broadcast journalism. This tenure-track position includes a 3:4 or 4:3 teaching load and 9 months of full-time service. Further, the position is for teaching undergraduate media production courses and requires teaching competencies in broadcast journalism, broadcast news studio production, multimedia production of news, and proficiency with contemporary media business models. We balance hands-on skills with an integrated approach to broadcast production in journalism and other forms of content creation. Special consideration will be given to those who can teach creative and experiential courses in broadcast news and media production. The ideal candidate’s research agenda should align well and inform the instructional focus in the program.
