University Student Assistant - SSC Peer Tutor - Tutoring Services (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Provides tutoring to individuals and small groups in the Student Success Center (SSC) located in the Houston Cole Library, 2nd floor. The SSC tutoring program is CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified. If hired, students are expected to complete 10 hours of training. This position assists students in improving academic achievement, supports students by reviewing and clarifying learning problems, and provides useful study skills to students who need supplemental help. Additionally, peer tutors provide subject-area knowledge and serve as a model for students in the techniques, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that successful learners employ as they acquire new knowledge, solve problems, and complete academic tasks. Tutors may also provide drop-in tutoring assistance to students based on requests for academic assistance. Tutors must possess knowledge of subject area material beyond a basic level; have excellent communication skills; the ability to provide an active learning experience for students by explaining difficult concepts and providing examples for explorations. Other assistance might include reviewing class material and discussing the text and course content. Lead Learning Specialist Jacksonville (Main Campus)
As part of a holistic strategic effort to support at-risk student athletes, this position provides individualized student support programming efforts that centers around learning strategies and academic skills. The Lead Learning Specialist functions to ensure assigned students understand assignments in their courses, help them to develop an organizational system that will facilitate success in their courses, assists students in areas where there are some cognitive deficiencies, and helps coordinate with assigned academic counselors, tutors, and other Student Athlete Academic Support Team members to guarantee at-risk student athletes receive proper academic assistance.
Intern - Temporary Education Program Assistant (Summer 2024) Fort Payne (Little River Canyon Center)
The Education Program Assistant-Temporary is primarily responsible for the administration (teaching) of science-based environmental educational and conservation programs and courses through the JSU Office of Strategic Partnerships and Special Projects and JSU Field Schools. Other responsibilities include the development of curriculum and programming. All activities are through primary coordination with FS Director and Assistant Director. Work is periodically reviewed for adherence to department/division goals and effectiveness of results. Reports to the Assistant Director of JSU Field Schools. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively teach environmental education and outdoor education curriculum to students Pre-K-12th grades, college, and adults. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching for field trips and other events at the Little River Canyon Center. They must be innovative with students and curriculum.

The HVAC Technician Lead performs master level work in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, heating, and allied equipment.
