University Student Assistant - ACE Athlete Tutor - SPRING 2018 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
General tutors provide individual and small group tutoring to students in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE)Tutoring Center or at a campus satellite tutoring center. Tutors assist students academically by meeting with students on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. Other assistance might include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems. Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching. Tutors may also provide drop-in tutoring assistance to students based on requests for academic assistance. This position involves mandatory training, reporting, and evaluations.
Graduate Administrative Assistant - ACE.LInCs - SPRING 2018 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The duties of the Graduate Administrative Assistant may include: assisting faculty, as well as other academic support duties, and departmental operational needs, and other associated and clerical duties as assigned. Positions will be filled based on individual applicant’s skills, qualification and departmental needs. Graduate Administrative Assistants are expected to work 20 hours per week during a fall or spring semester. Graduate Administrative Assistants working a fall or spring semester will receive $2,080, disbursed in four equal monthly payments. Graduate Administrative Assistants will also receive a fellowship for 6 to 9 hours of graduate coursework for a fall or spring semester and a waiver of the general university fees. Computer Programmer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Computer Programmer develops applications, SQL queries, PL/SQL program units and reports, and the integration of such structures with existing stored RDBMS packages, procedures and functions. Provides University-wide support for reporting and maintaining of student, financial aid, human resources, financial, and prospective student data within the existing stored RDBMS and other supporting systems. The Computer Programmer participates in the systems design process, and accepts assigned responsibility for projects, which may include maintenance, major modifications or development of systems based on user requirements.
IT Support Specialist Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The incumbent in this position provides technical assistance and network support, including hardware and software support to the entire academic and administrative areas in the campus community, in addition to troubleshooting and repairing computer problems, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software while ensuring optimal end-user performance.
HVAC III Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Heating and Air Conditioning Mechanic III performs master level work in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, heating, and allied equipment. The Mechanic III services and maintains various refrigeration and air conditioning installations and equipment according to established trade practices and under the direction of the HVAC Supervisor. Tasks are reviewed for compliance with instructions and adequate completion. The HVAC Mechanic III works rotating shifts; special situations or emergencies may necessitate reporting on a scheduled off-day.
Plumber I Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Plumber I performs a variety of skilled plumbing tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in the installation and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems. Supervision may be involved. Assignments are received orally or as written job orders. The Plumber I works independently and complete projects without direct supervision.
Career Advisor Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Career Advisor is responsible for advising and counseling students and alumni concerning career assessment, experiential education, leading to preparation for employment. The Career Advisor solicits regional businesses for job leads and scheduling of interviews for registered students and alumni, and collects, organizes, and analyzes, prepare reports on the status of experiential learning work assignments. The career adviser will manage daily program operations, develop program/policy procedure, conduct program assessment and evaluation, and participate in meeting strategic initiatives.

University Student Assistant / ACE Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader - SPRING 2018 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. SI sessions are regularly scheduled, out-of-class review sessions for all students enrolled in a targeted course. The sessions are informal seminars in which students review notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and prepare for examinations. Students learn how to integrate course content with reasoning and study skills. SI sessions are conducted by a student leader who has successfully completed the course, attends the course, and works with the professor to design collaborative learning sessions for the students to attend on a voluntary basis.SI leaders support classroom instruction in every way. Likewise, the SI program is offered only in classes where the faculty member understands and supports Supplemental Instruction. Primary Responsibilities 1. Attend the targeted class, take notes, and act as a model student. 2. Ascertain course requirements and maintain contact throughout the term with the course professor. 3. Actively recruit participants for SI sessions. 4. Conduct (3) 50-minute weekly sessions for each of your assigned section throughout the term. 5. Be prepared and be on time for each SI session. 6. Be familiar with campus resources available to students. 7. Plan SI sessions using a wide variety of the interactive learning strategies (without re-teaching, lecturing or completing students’ assignments for them). 8. Prepare handouts, informal quizzes, and other learning aids for SI sessions. 9. Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
