University Student Assistant-ACE Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader - FALL 2019 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. SI sessions are regularly scheduled, out-of-class review sessions for all students enrolled in a targeted course. The sessions are informal seminars in which students review notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and prepare for examinations. Students learn how to integrate course content with reasoning and study skills. SI sessions are conducted by a student leader who has successfully completed the course, attends the course, and works with the professor to design collaborative learning sessions for the students to attend on a voluntary basis.SI leaders support classroom instruction in every way. Likewise, the SI program is offered only in classes where the faculty member understands and supports Supplemental Instruction.

University Student Assistant-ACE Student Athlete Tutor-FALL 2019 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
General tutors provide individual and small group tutoring to students in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) Tutoring Center. Tutors assist students academically by meeting with students on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. Other assistance might include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems. Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching. ACE tutors may also provide drop-in tutoring assistance to students based on requests for academic assistance. This position involves mandatory training, reporting, and evaluations.
