Graduate Administrative Assistant - Special Event Technology - FALL 2018 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The duties of the Graduate Administrative Assistant, under the supervision of the faculty and/or staff may include: assisting faculty, as well as other academic support duties, and departmental operational needs, and other associated and clerical duties as assigned. Positions will be filled based on individual applicant's skills, qualification and departmental needs. Graduate administrative assistants are expected to work 20 hours per week during a fall or spring semester. Graduate administrative assistants working a full summer term will receive $2,080, dispersed in three monthly payments. Graduate administrative assistants will also receive a fellowship for 6 to 9 hours of graduate coursework for a fall or spring semester and a waiver of the general university fees. If you choose to apply for employment as a graduate student at JSU, your transcripts and letters of recommendation will be reviewed by personnel from the units who have posted a graduate assistantship position.

The University Student Assistant Campus Parking Enforcement Officer is responsible for the enforcement of University Parking Rules and Regulations. University Student Assistant - Desk Assistant (Residence Life) - FALL 2018 Jacksonville (Main Campus)
A Desk Assistant (DA) is a student employee who assists and provides security for residents within university housing. DAs report to the Assistant Residence Life Coordinator (ARLC) during the academic semester. The primary purpose of DAs is to provide information, public relations, and security for residents and their guests. The DA is the first line of communication at the front desk. Duties for DA typically include enforcing the visitation policies, answering questions about on-campus housing, campus services, and directing people to the correct location. Duties for a Lead Night Desk Assistant (LNDA) and Night Desk Assistant (NDA) typically include monitoring who enters the residence hall after hours, recognizing residents of that particular hall, and reporting to the Department of University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL) staff and the University Police Department (UPD) any suspicious activities in and around the residence halls. Customer service skills both in-person and on the telephone, as well as the ability to provide accurate information are essential to this position.
