Assistant Professor, Biology Jacksonville (Main Campus)

The Biology Department seeks a broadly trained biologist who is interested in excellence and innovation in teaching and plans to develop and maintain an active research program with undergraduate and masters level students. Candidates should be able to incorporate research into the classroom for authentic research experiences in course-based labs. Teaching needs include Introduction to Biology for majors and non-majors, as well as upper-level and graduate courses determined by candidate expertise and departmental needs. The successful candidate will join a growing department with thirteen full-time faculty, approximately 350 undergraduate majors and forty graduate students. The department currently enjoys funding through the National Science Foundation and other external sources. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The ideal candidate will be innovative with a strong interest in teaching through active learning pedagogy. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude and inclination for engaging students in research, both through individual mentored research as well as course-embedded undergraduate research experiences. Teaching and mentoring masters-level graduate students is also expected. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to advise students on future careers and have a working knowledge of curriculum requirements, as well as assessment and educational trends in higher education. A record of grant writing experience for extramural funding is beneficial.
Assistant/Associate Professor, Psychology Jacksonville (Main Campus)
This Assistant Professor position is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Psychology Department, which includes an ABAI-accredited master's program and ABAI-verified course sequence. This position requires teaching undergraduates and graduates in behavior analysis, developing research programs and disseminating results, and serving the university, profession, and community. Provision of behavior analytic services to the local community through outside funding sources is also possible in collaboration with the JSU Center for Behavioral Studies.

The Housing Operations Student Tour Guide (HOST) position exists to give prospective students, families, and guests an opportunity to experience JSU’s variety of on-campus living options. HOSTs are responsible for guiding scheduled housing tours and representing Housing Operations at university events such as Preview Days, Gamecock Orientations, Accepted Student Days, etc. HOSTs will also be expected to perform daily office operations and other duties as assigned during times when no tours are scheduled. HOSTs will participate in proper training where they will gain working knowledge of the on-campus communities before taking on these responsibilities.

Assistant Professor, Graduate Nursing Jacksonville (South Campus)
The Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing provides educational opportunities/experiences to traditional and non-traditional students. Scholarly teaching is an expectation within doctorate and graduate level courses in Nursing along with doctoral level research (oversight and management of DNP Scholarly projected which may include advanced data analysis). The faculty member is required to teach courses within his/her concentration area on campus, off-campus, online courses and with possible videoconferencing depending on need. The faculty member is required to maintain a clinical practice with his/her specialty area. This position is a 12-month, hybrid position and requires extensive online engagement with students and often on campus visits for diverse university functions as mandated by the administrative team. The faculty member is expected to work collaboratively with the Director of Online and Graduate Nursing Programs to facilitate desired student outcomes.
