The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and recoverability of mission-critical databases that support academic, administrative, and research operations. This role is responsible for the oversight of data flows into the reporting environment to support operational needs, with a primary focus of Oracle database administration hosted both on-premise and in the cloud. In addition to core database administration, the DBA performs installations, upgrades, and software-level administration for ERP database packages and departmental enterprise applications, including those modules running on Tomcat or other supported servers. The role focuses on maintaining operational continuity for systems managed by the Enterprise Information Systems department. Collaboration with IT teams and functional departments is essential to support data integrity, compliance, and integration with third-party systems. This position also plays a key role in advancing data governance and supporting analytics initiatives across campus.

University Student Assistant - Supplemental Instruction (Fall 2026 - Spring 2027) Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. SI sessions are regularly scheduled, out-of-class review sessions for all students enrolled in a targeted course. The sessions are informal seminars in which students review notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and prepare for examinations. Students learn how to integrate course content with reasoning and study skills. SI sessions are conducted by a student leader who has successfully completed the course, attends the course, and works with the professor to design collaborative learning sessions for the students to attend on a voluntary basis. University Student Assistants supporting the grand opening of the Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts will play a key role in delivering a smooth, welcoming, and well-organized event experience for all guests.
