Job Summary:

The Coordinator of Assessment facilitates data collection, data analysis, and implementation of the goals and objectives related to the on-going process of institutional assessment and continuous quality improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the on-going process of institutional assessment.
  • Implements research projects with an institutional focus that examines student satisfaction, development, and learning.
  • Assists departments and other units with assessment and continuous improvement needs.
  • Participates in research projects to evaluate institutional effectiveness, including implementation of surveys and coordination and analysis of standardized tests of student achievement.
  • Administers surveys that support analytical, planning, and evaluation needs of the University.
  • Provides support to the SACSCOC accreditation processes as needed.
  • Maintains databases for longitudinal tracking of student experiences, behavior, and academic outcomes in collaboration with the Coordinator of Institutional Research.
  • Ensures that assessment results are available to appropriate JSU constituents.
  • Prepares statistical and database reports, tables, graphs, narratives, and questionnaires in print, electronic and web-enabled formats.
  • Prepares assessment data for web-based analysis for users across campus.
  • Manages projects related to assessment, continuous improvement, and program review.
  • While managing projects: gathers requirements, sets timelines, provides project deliverables, with minimal oversight/supervision.
  • Filters, prepares, and presents data in any requested format.
  • Tests and ensures presented data is accurate.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and
  • Three (3) years of experience in higher education assessment and statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
