Job Summary:

The Maintenance Inventory Clerk II in Capital Planning and Facilities performs routine work in the operation of a maintenance stock room. This includes manual and clerical tasks in the receiving, storing, inventorying, and care of supplies, parts and other tools and equipment required for the maintenance department of the University. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Checks out tools to grounds and maintenance crews and checks that tools have been returned at the end of the day or at the end of the week.
• Keeps detailed records of maintenance (oil and filter changes, etc.) performed on all University vehicles, including police cars, President’s car and utility vehicles. Dispenses oil and gasoline to University vehicles and records amount used and date of service.
• Receives incoming tools, supplies, parts, and equipment purchased by the University. Checks requisitions and packing lists for agreement. Places items received on storage shelves and arranges items by type or category.
• Checks inventory levels of items such as tires, oil, gasoline, and spare parts to ensure that proper levels are maintained.
• Reads parts manuals and order books in order to locate parts needed. Talks with vendors to locate or order parts.
• Reviews work orders at the end of the day to reconcile those completed and those in progress.
• Assists delivery truck drivers in unloading tools, equipment, parts or supplies received.
• Drives University vehicles to locations on and off campus to deliver parts and pick up items.
• Records number of cars jump started, and notifies mechanic of individuals needing assistance.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Some experience in stock room work.
• Valid driver’s license required.
