Federal Work Study - Music Department (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The duties of the Music Department Federal Work Study Student Aid include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for research, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs. **Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. If uncertain of eligibility, please contact the Office of Financial Aid.
Financial Aid Services Specialist Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Financial Aid Services Specialist assists in administering (reviewing, processing, and maintaining) current and potential student applications and records for participation in the University’s loans and Federally awarded financial aid program.
Accounting Specialist Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Accounting Specialist provides and coordinates accounting and administrative support to the department, and assists in the administration of departmental functions for the University.
Groundskeeper/Laborer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Groundskeeper Laborer performs lawn and grounds work of an unskilled nature that will vary with the season. Responsibilities involve physical labor that is conducted mostly out of doors in all weather conditions. Tasks may occasionally include those on a semi-skilled level. Duties will be assigned in detail by an immediate supervisor and are subject to frequent inspection.
University Student Assistant - SSC Peer Tutor - Tutoring Services (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Provides tutoring to individuals and small groups in the Student Success Center (SSC) located in the Houston Cole Library, 2nd floor. The SSC tutoring program is CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified. If hired, students are expected to complete 10 hours of training. This position assists students in improving academic achievement, supports students by reviewing and clarifying learning problems, and provides useful study skills to students who need supplemental help. Additionally, peer tutors provide subject-area knowledge and serve as a model for students in the techniques, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that successful learners employ as they acquire new knowledge, solve problems, and complete academic tasks. Tutors may also provide drop-in tutoring assistance to students based on requests for academic assistance. Tutors must possess knowledge of subject area material beyond a basic level; have excellent communication skills; the ability to provide an active learning experience for students by explaining difficult concepts and providing examples for explorations. Other assistance might include reviewing class material and discussing the text and course content. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs. Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
