This position manages day-to-day business and finance activities to ensure the department operates efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of both customers and staff. Assists with the administrative aspects and has operational control of a range of business transactions and projects. May work on assignments related to department initiatives, internal operating procedures, business processes, and policies. The position works collaboratively with campus partners to support the institution and department.
Maintenance Inventory Clerk II Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The Maintenance Inventory Clerk II in Capital Planning and Facilities performs routine work in the operation of a maintenance stock room. This includes manual and clerical tasks in the receiving, storing, inventorying, and care of supplies, parts and other tools and equipment required for the maintenance department of the University. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for compliance.
Groundskeeper/Laborer Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The Groundskeeper Laborer performs lawn and grounds work of an unskilled nature that will vary with the season. Responsibilities involve physical labor that is conducted mostly out of doors in all weather conditions. Tasks may occasionally include those on a semi-skilled level. Duties will be assigned in detail by an immediate supervisor and are subject to frequent inspection.
University Student Assistant - Police Communications Officer (Summer 2026 - Fall 2026) Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The duties of the University Student Aid Police Communications Officer are to operate assigned radio frequencies, perform 9-1-1 and Alabama Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (A.L.E.T.S.) duties, operate the Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD), maintain records and files, comply with all rules and regulations of the Police Department and University, must be able to maintain confidentiality of information, assist with operational and administrative tasks, along with additional duties as required by the department. The manager leads the planning, design, and construction of major infrastructure improvements and renovations to ensure they align with the institution's strategic plan and academic mission. The position serves as a key liaison between university departments, external contractors, and architects to deliver projects on time and within budget. Also, the manager assists in long-range utility planning, developing operating budgets, and implementing energy-saving and sustainability initiatives. Assistant Director, Guest Services & Marketing, Randy Owens Center for the Performing Arts Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
The Assistant Director, Guest Services & Marketing coordinates operational aspects to successfully develop the Randy Owen Center for Performing Arts’ new patrons, develop new audiences, and increase community visibility to meet organizational goals. Also, this position develops and implements comprehensive marketing, communications, and promotional plans for assigned programs, in collaboration and under the leadership of the Roc’s Executive Director. Department Head, Aviation Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)
Jacksonville State University’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a Department Head of Aviation to lead a newly created department at Jacksonville State University. This full-time, tenure-track, 12-month position will begin May 2026. This department head will report to the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, who reports directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. This hire is the first in the department, which is expected to grow by one faculty member every other year, so the department head will have an opportunity to shape the department and program by providing vision, leadership, direction, and expert administration. A terminal degree is required along with at least five years’ experience flying. Leadership experience in an academic setting, the military, or the private sector is also required. The salary is contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of the university.

A Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the Mathematical, Computing, and Informational Sciences – Mathematics department assists faculty by teaching lower-level courses or labs; developing teaching materials; and preparing and grading examinations, papers, or other student work. The GTAs must be assigned to and responsible for teaching a credit bearing course and will be under the supervision of a faculty member experienced in the teaching field. A GTA’s work with students will be closely supervised and must provide opportunities to gain teaching skills and a better grasp of the academic discipline. The supervising faculty member is responsible for overseeing the assignment of all grades to students in the courses. Temporary Auxiliary Teacher (Pre-K1) Jacksonville, AL (CEPS Complex)
The temporary auxiliary teacher will assist with implementing a model Pre-K program for a group of children and provide support to the lead teacher with the following: planning and implementing appropriate activities for children, working with faculty and administration, working with families of young children, and modeling evidence-based practices in the classroom for early educator observers, graduate, and undergraduate students.
