    Assistant Professor of Music Education, Instrumental in Jacksonville, AL (Main Campus)

    The David L. Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University (Jax State) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Music Education, Instrumental. Primary duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate instrumental music education courses and supervising practicum and internship students. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative spirit, a strong background in music pedagogy, performance, and curriculum development, as well as a passion for fostering student success in music education settings. The successful candidate should foster partnerships with local/regional P-12 schools and possess or demonstrate potential for an exemplary record of scholarly/creative activity. The department offers undergraduate programs of study in Music Education, Music Performance, Music Industry, and General Music. In addition, the department offers graduate programs in General Music and Music Education. A doctorate or ABD in the discipline is required.

    The Police Officer is responsible for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and regulations of the university by performing police and patrol work in accordance with federal, state, county, municipal laws and university regulations. Work may involve personal danger and the use of independent judgment in responding to emergencies. This position may be assigned to day or evening shifts and may be called to work odd hours for special events or activities on campus. Work is frequently performed out of doors in all weather conditions. Work is performed under general supervision of the Police Sergeant and in accordance with established routine and is checked by superior officers through personal inspections, review of reports, and discussion with employees.
