The Communication Lab Assistant must have regular posted work hours (25/week) when they are available to help students with the following: 1. Check out camera and other equipment to students for limited times using the software set-up to document all pertinent check in/check out information. 2. Manage access to our video and audio editing suites, including making sure that access is fairly allocated. 3. Keep regular hours (the days and duration of which they will help set). 4. Post their office hours and contract information in Self Hall. 5. Make their access known to students through text and voice calls during the assigned hours. 6. Graduate Teaching Assistant - Art & Design (Spring 2024) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
A Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) assists faculty by teaching lower-level courses or labs; developing teaching materials; and preparing and grading examinations, papers, or other student work. The GTAs must be assigned to and responsible for teaching a credit bearing course and will be under the supervision of a faculty member experienced in the teaching field. A GTA’s work with students will be closely supervised and must provide opportunities to gain teaching skills and a better grasp of the academic discipline. The supervising faculty member is responsible for overseeing the assignment of all grades to students in the courses. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Content Creator will be responsible for developing high-quality copy for newsletters, websites, social media, marketing materials, and other platforms. Electrician III Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Electrician III in Capital Planning and Facilities performs skilled installation and electrical maintenance work on the master level in accordance with standard practices of the trade. Assignments are received orally or in writing and may be accompanied by penciled sketches or plans. The Electrician III works independently in carrying the duties through to completion, although a maintenance supervisor may check the work while in process. Provides tutoring to individuals and small groups in the Student Success Center (SSC) located in the Houston Cole Library, 2nd floor. The SSC tutoring program is CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified. If hired, students are expected to complete 10 hours of training. This position assists students in improving academic achievement, supports students by reviewing and clarifying learning problems, and provides useful study skills to students who need supplemental help. Additionally, peer tutors provide subject-area knowledge and serve as a model for students in the techniques, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that successful learners employ as they acquire new knowledge, solve problems, and complete academic tasks. Tutors may also provide drop-in tutoring assistance to students based on requests for academic assistance. Tutors must possess knowledge of subject area material beyond a basic level; have excellent communication skills; the ability to provide an active learning experience for students by explaining difficult concepts and providing examples for explorations. Other assistance might include reviewing class material and discussing the text and course content. Interested in being a student tour guide? The Gamecock Student Tour Guides administer daily tours to potential students and families, along with university employees and partners! As a front facing student leader, the Gamecock Guides are expected to uphold university branding standards, both on and off the clock, while being able to confidently illustrate one’s university knowledge. Gamecock Guides may be required to work event days such as Admitted Student Days, Preview Days and undergo mandatory team training. When not administering a tour, the Gamecock Guides will be assisting with daily administrative tasks such as answering calls, emails, and providing excellent customer service practices.
