8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, some evenings and weekends may be required

Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Financial Aid Compliance will coordinate compliance with all Federal Student Aid regulations regarding the administration of federal and institutional financial aid funds. This position will coordinate routine sampling of student financial aid files to ensure compliance with regulations, will coordinate and oversee fund reconciliation procedures, and will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits. This position will also be responsible for training staff, coordinating and conducting audits of verification, Return to Title IV calculations, professional judgments, and satisfactory academic progress.

Essential Functions:

  •   Coordinates and documents audits of student financial aid files by specifically reviewing Return to Title IV calculations, verification, and professional judgments.
  •   Maintains fund reconciliation records between the Financial Aid Office, the Controller’s Office, and external data systems on a monthly basis.
  •   Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
  •   Trains and supervises staff for satisfactory academic progress, professional judgments, Return to Title IV calculations, and verification.
  •   Maintains a current and functional Policies and Procedures Manual.
  •   Assists with escalated student and parent inquiries.
  •   Supervises staff including training, time reporting, professional development, and performance management.
  •   Represents the Director of Financial Aid in their absence.
  •   Other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid or the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in a college/university financial aid office
  • Extensive knowledge of federal financial aid regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Working knowledge and experience with Return to Title IV, verification, and satisfactory academic progress regulations
  • Experience reviewing and updating and/or creating a Financial Aid Policies and Procedures Manual
  • 3 NASFAA Credentials
