Instructor or Assistant Professor, Kinesiology

Jacksonville State University’s College of Health Professions and Wellness is seeking to hire a scholar for an Instructor or Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology.

The Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology provides educational services to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening; teaching undergraduate level courses in Health & Physical Education; and may be required to teach courses within his/her concentration area on campus, off-campus, online courses and possible videoconferencing depending on need of location.

The Jacksonville State University College of Health Professions and Wellness was established to deliver a top-quality education for 21st century professionals in an effort to promote health and wellness in our communities, state, nation, and around the world.  The departments of nursing, respiratory therapy, and kinesiology have developed undergraduate and graduate programs utilizing the latest evidence-based practices.  It is our goal to prepare future leaders in health and wellness professions.

This position requires the following:

  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education, or related field.

The preferred applicant will possess the following:

  • Two years secondary (6-12) teaching experience
  • Educator Certification in health and physical education
  • Terminal degree in Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education or related field
