The Department of Teacher Education of Jacksonville State University’s College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking to hire a scholar for the position of Assistant Professor.

The College of Education and Professional Studies at Jacksonville State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, Teacher Education. The Assistant Professor is responsible for instructional work to facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts, skills, and behaviors that contribute to the development of knowledge in General Science Education. This position exists to provide educational services to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening. Instructor may be required to teach courses within his/her concentration area on campus, off-campus, online courses and possible videoconferencing depending on need of location.

This position has an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024.

This position requires the following:

  • Must hold a valid teaching certificate in the content area to be taught.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience in the content area to be taught.
  • Terminal degree in the content area to be taught.

Preference may be given to applicants who possess the following:

  • Experience working with students at the university level.
