Job Summary:
The Victory Workforce Development Services Specialist (VWDS) is part of a multidisciplinary team at the VWDS. This team serves as the bridge between professional development workforce services and essential community resources. This individual facilitates direct referrals for career readiness, training, workshops, resume writing assistance, educational, peer-support and all other essential community-based needs for veterans and their spouses. The VWDS Specialist manages referral partnerships by continuous engagement post-referral, ensuring the provision of quality care, training and career preparation for veterans and their spouses. This position assists the VWDS team in understanding resources and needs within the Victory Workforce Development Services. The VWDS Specialist serves as the direct supervisor of the VWDS Intern(s). This is a grant-funded position, which is renewable pending the continuation of funds annually.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive workforce development services to veterans and their spouses.
- Interviews veterans and their spouse members to determine needs for professional development.
- Provides appropriate referrals as necessary.
- Prepares and maintains confidential training and professional development records.
- Consults with service providers and community partners on resource-related issues.
- Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information.
- Collaborates with VWDS team to perform training, workshops, and professional development for career readiness.
- Develops networks of trusted contacts within organizations in which to refer and coordinate career opportunities for veterans and their spouses.
- Participates in and may coordinate and lead multidisciplinary VWDS team meetings.
- Follows care to ensure veterans and/or their Spouse received the services needed.
- Assists veterans and their spouse to navigate career opportunities available.
- Provides services in-office or via team’s platform, as required.
- May supervise or engage with volunteers and interns, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or closely related field.
- Minimum one (1) year’s workforce, management experience
- Knowledge of or experience working with local businesses, service, chambers of commerce, training, professional development, and Veteran Serving
- Organizations (VSO’s) and resources.
- Must demonstrate leadership capacity and ability to foster team building and a supportive, flexible environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business or closely related field
- Minimum three (3) years’ workforce, management experience
- Minimum two (2) years in a customer service focused environment
- Experience working with a military or veteran population
|
