Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid Operations will be responsible for the daily sending and receiving of data files, including ISIR files and ISIR correction files. This position will oversee federal student aid eligibility and will coordinate audits of student financial aid files regarding verification and other eligibility criteria. This position will be a liaison to Information Technology Services and will review and test all Banner upgrades/patches, with the approval and guidance of the Director of Financial Aid. This position will also supervise the Financial Aid Counselors whose responsibility includes student eligibility reviews.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily sending and receiving of ISIR files, including correction files; including utilizing a scheduler to assist with this process.
  • Coordinates and documents audits of student financial aid files by specifically reviewing student eligibility and verification. 
  • Reviews Professional Judgment requests including EFC appeals, SAP appeals, and Dependency Appeals.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Information Technology Services
  • Reviews and tests all Banner upgrades/patches, with the approval and guidance of the Director of Financial Aid.
  • Coordinates awarding for all terms including one-term manual awarding.
  • Coordinates disbursements and disbursement notifications, including error resolution.
  • Performs transfer monitoring process and reviews and corrects National Student Clearinghouse errors
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid with new year set-up in Banner; including but not limited to roll process, updating population selections, requirements, etc.
  • Assists with escalated student and parent inquiries. 
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid or the Vice President of Enrollment Management.
  • Supervises Financial Aid Counselors including training, time reporting, professional development, and performance management. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, and
  • Three (3) years of experience with Ellucian Banner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations
