Job Summary:
The MBA Program Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Master of Business Administration program, ensuring academic excellence, student success, and program growth. This position reports to the Associate Dean of the College of Business and Industry and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and university administrators to advance the program's mission
|
Duties and Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership & Program Development
- Lead curriculum development and review processes, ensuring program content remains current, competitive, and aligned with accreditation standards
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance teaching effectiveness and implement innovative pedagogical approaches
- Monitor program quality through assessment of learning outcomes and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives at the graduate level and assist with undergraduate assessment
- Develop and maintain relationships with local business community to enhance experiential learning opportunities
- Guide the program through accreditation processes and maintain compliance with AACSB standards
Student Success & Experience
- Oversee student recruitment, admissions, and retention strategies
- Provide academic advisement and career guidance to MBA students
- Develop and implement student support services and professional development programming
- Monitor student progress and implement interventions when necessary
Administrative Management
- Manage program budget and resources effectively
- Develop course schedules and coordinate faculty assignments
- Oversee program staff and graduate assistants
- Prepare regular reports on program metrics and outcomes
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures for program operations
External Relations & Program Growth
- Represent the MBA program at university events and professional conferences
- Develop and maintain relationships with alumni and corporate partners
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on program promotion
- Identify opportunities for program expansion and new program development
- Participate in fundraising and development initiatives

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement
- Strong record of teaching excellence and commitment to student success
- Proven leadership and administrative experience in higher education
- Excellence in oral and written communication
|
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration or earned doctorate (in Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution)
- Previous experience as program director or similar administrative role
- Experience with AACSB accreditation standards and processes
- Active engagement with professional and academic business organizations
- Teaching experience at the graduate level
- Experience with online and hybrid program delivery
- Record of successful external partnership development
- Background in program assessment and continuous improvement
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation
