Primary duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate instrumental music education courses and supervising practicum and internship students. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative spirit, a strong background in music pedagogy, performance, and curriculum development, as well as a passion for fostering student success in music education settings. The successful candidate should foster partnerships with local/regional P-12 schools and possess or demonstrate potential for an exemplary record of scholarly/creative activity. Other responsibilities based on the successful candidate’s expertise and departmental needs may be assigned. The department offers undergraduate programs of study in Music Education, Music Performance, Music Industry, and General Music. In addition, the department offers graduate programs in General Music and Music Education. A doctorate or ABD in the discipline is required.
